The DD isnt really a true sub, but the long throw version would be more suited to play as a sub.

I hope you are right about the EU-700... I just ordered one for the 97 Ex. The factory sub is sounding like total crap and I figured I'd go the inexpensive route first and put a replacement sub in it before going to a new enclosure.
