Next I am thinking 3" body lift, torsion bar drop brackets (4") and some blocks in the rear for a grand total of 14" of lift and 42's

you wouldn't be able to flex much because there would be no room to do so!

awesome

That thing looks awesome. I have been to offroad unlimited too but they told me that they didnt think they could do that to a second gen explorer. Who did u talk to and if you dont mind me asking, approx how much did it cost ya?

What size wheels are those? 15x8's or 15x10's? I really like the wide look to them, not tall and skinny but not "bubbly".

I talked to Tom at ORU. He was very helpful.

In total he charged me about $1200. That includes parts and labor.

Tires were an extra $750 from 4wheelparts.

I managed to get longer torsion bar bolts at All Metric Fasteners in Houston. They make some that are the same dimensions as the stock ford bolts but 100mm in length. Put them in and cranked them as far as they would go.

as far as longer torsion bolts what else did you do? i was reading through your tread and you metioned camkits . what is that really. and how safe is it to do this?

thanks for your help.

Camkits are essentially extension kits for the ajusters in your front suspension. They allow for a proper alignment and camber job to be completed on a vehicle with a maximum torsion twist. A lot of people say their tires ride like this: / \. The way to fix that and ajust the camber back to normal is to install the cam kits.

After installing them, I have had no problems with camber, wheel bearing/tire wear, or alignment. They are essential.

sorry about all the questions but was wondering were you got the camkits from because i looked all over the site and havent found anything about them. thanks

I got them from a Ford dealer

Looks great.

fury: I got my oversize cam kits from skyjacker.

What do you mean by 3 inch lift spindels? Isn't the TT the only way to lift the front besides a lift kit? Also do u happen to knoe part numbers or who I could talk to about the 100mm torsion bar bolts, thread size or anything. Thanks
