After I installed my 73mm C&L MAF, my truck does not idle as well.

If started when cold it will fire up nicely then fall back down and sputter for a bit, to the point where it almost stalls out, then it seems to catch its balance and idle smoothly again.

Wonder if this has something to do with the new MAF??

How does it run with the MAF unplugged?
Did you try cleaning the MAF?

Maybe reinstall the old MAF to see if it is related to the C&L?

It sometimes takes a little while for the computer to "learn" the new MAF...it's also a good idea (if you haven't done it) to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the computer.

...or if you have an XCal2, reload the factory program and then go back to the tune you had selected which cleans out the learned values.

Good advice, thanks...

While driving my Sport to work today I noticed that it had better performance than it ever had, it really got up and screamed when I hammered it. It was quite surprising.

I have read that the vehicle needs time to get used to new uprgrades and make adjustments, but never believed it totaly. The idle seemed improved a bit as well and was up about 150 rpm's in park.

I also added 89 octane gas as opposed to the 87 I usually put in, for the first time since the Demon coil and C&L upgrades. My truck has always run best on 89 since the chip calibration.

Yes, I have to come up with the $450 first- which sucks this time of year.

$200 for the re-tune + Dyno time at $75 an hour and some minor adjustments I am going to have him do; re-gap plugs to .065 and check for vacuum leaks. Not going to make the same mistake twice, costs too much money.

There is also a small fee for removing and installing the front drive shaft.
