$751 bucks for new 4.0L cylinder heads!

i called S&S rebuilders today looking for a quote on their remaufactured cylinder heads for the 4.0 OHV

They quoted me at $751, thats more then half the price for a remanufactured 302 longblock from them! which is $1300 BTW

Then they quoted me $2300 for a long block 244 (4.0L)

Does anyone know how much a USED (4.0 OHV) motor should go for?

You should buy a rebuilt off eBay. Dealer prices for the transmission and engine can cost more than a used X in working condition

I just bought a used motor for 500 bones cdn and thanks to my cunning skills got a bunch of sensors and junk too, not that I used them. Turned out to be a 98 up motor.

Are you lookin' for heads for your 92?

Can we use newer 4.0L pushrod motors on our stock trannys? I saw that one motor on Ebay and i wasnt sure if the '98 flywheel was compatible with '92 Mazda 5-speed?

Yeah im looking to eaither buy a used motor and rebuild that or get a new pair of cylinder heads and port them for my current motor.

im bent on the route of getting an entire motor now. After seeing prices that is haha. i couldnt believe that a pair of 351w heads were like $150 and 244cid heads were "Call for pricing." They quoted me for $751

In Australia I purchased a 2003 model 4.0 OHC engine brand new never used for AU$3300.

Call http://www.alabamacylinderhead.com/ and ask for Chad and tell him Doug from 4.0 performance sent ya. He'll sell you brand new heads for $200 less then that other guy if not more.

These are NEW thicker castings not reworked factory. These are the heads I used to use when I was making my Stage 3 4.0 heads.

I bought two new heads from alabama cylinder head there real nice people to work with and they were quick on the shipping, and they do COD which is really nice no waiting time. I think i paid right about $180 for each one.
