8.8 Mini Spool - Yes I am installing one

Man that is sweet! I wish I would've done this on mine instead of the ARB. The ARB is nice and all but a spool would fit the bill much better.

nah, stick with the ARB. the spool is definatly liveable on the street, but you've got a spool that you can turn on and off. a full open rear end is VERY nice on the street. i wanted ARB's front and rear in my bronc, but cause of money issues i went with a detroit ez locker in front and a spool in the rear. im happy with it, but if i had the dough, i would have gone ARB. it would have been nice to "unlock" the front on tight trails, as the ez locker over-rides my power steering. in tight spots were you have a lot of traction, i go from power steering to "armstrong" steering. but, early ford p.s. pumps are junk. i could put out more pressure by blowing the p.s. fluid through a straw, and i probably wouldnt leak as much either.:D

btw- wife hates it big time!

mine thinks its funny. every time she rides in it and we take a slow, sharp turn, it starts chirping and she just laughs.

When it's time to re-do the rear end I will go with a spool. I don't trust my ARB can hold up to the little abuse I put to it as it is. My vehicle is a trail only vehicle. It rarely get's driven on the street, and I just drive it to the trails.

Plus with a spool it's one less thing to go wrong when your having fun. :)
