i killed my old 8.8 and got a great deal for a used 8.8, i went to yard and got one for $250, but i forgot to keep some parts off the old 8.8 i now need:
calipers
pads
backing plates
brake lines
where could i get these?
i checked around locally and i found that places only carried pads not even calipers, are there any good online places for this or do i have to go to the stealership?

howd you shatter the 8.8? that musta taken a LOT! but for pads & calipers i would check pep-boys. and for the brakelines and backing plates i would check the same yard and see if they have any.

Have you tried advance auto parts?

I got rebuilt calipers for my BII there for 13 bucks a piece.

advance auto didn't even have rear calipers, i may have to get you to buy some for me and ship them over here

are all ford 8.8 rear calipers the same? like could i get parts off of a brono 2 8.8 or a older 8.8 and still have them work on my 2000?

The only ones that will fit yours are ones a from a 95-2001 explorer.

The BII doesn't have an 8.8, it has the 7.5.

I will call around locally here and see what I can come up with.

thanx, i appreciate it much

where should i go to get u-bolts and u-bolt plates? along with spring perches? thanx

Why don't you use the ones that were with your old axle and springs?

dayyyum......

Auto parts store should for sure have these things....

If not, a local junkyard will.

The problem with buying the calipers at a store is that the core charge will kill you. Something like $100! And without a core you're screwed.

Just curious, how did you ruin your 8.8 in a 2000 model?
Also Happy birthday tomorrow. We share the same day, just a few years differance though. :D Well ok... more than a few years.
