i need as much help as possible for the pros and cons of a full body swap. i have a fully built bronco all it needs is body work. it has bad rot and i can get it fixed for like 500 at a shop by my house but i just found a bronco 2 with 1 spot of rust and other then that mint condition for 300.

so what would be the better idea? i need as many comments as possible. i ahve never done a body swap and i'd like to know if i should just get the body work done or pay for the body swap.

When you say fully built bronco are you talking about a full size bronco, cause it you are then the body swap would be hard, cause the big bronco share the same frame as the f-150.

So you want to take the good body off one BII and swap it onto the frame of the built BII? This is a big project, but its not too complicated.
Now you need to make sure they are similar years, what I am getting at is if the "built" BII has a different wiring harness or dash, then you will run into problems when it comes time to swap them over, unless you also gut the interior and dash and wiring and gages, etc.

It may be easier just to fix the rust, maybe not. Alot depends on how much help you have, the kind of tools/shop you have access too etc....

Big project for sure

Im going from the 88 Bronco 2 body thats completly rotted, to a 84 Bronco 2. my plan was to just swap the bodys off. the 84 is auto. the 88 im body im getting rid of is a 5spd. and has a differnt dash. could u give any suggestions on what to do? any help would be great. thanks..

alright i found an 88' 5 spd so this should make it easier right? the *other* bronco 2 i bought is a new mexico vehicle. spo there is like a spot of rust. :D

thaqnks for your help and if ANYONE can provide me with plz do

That will make things easier. The Bronco II body did not change between 84 to 88, however the wiring, interior, and all that junk did. So using the same or similar years will make it much easier.

the window seals in the 86-90 versions for the big picture windows are better then the earlier 84 anyways.

What kind of help do you need? I mean there are 8 or 10 body mounts, a bunch of wires, the steering shaft, fuel filler and a few other things that connect from frame to body, its pretty straight forward but alot of work.
