91 - 94 Explorer Bolt Sizes

Is all the hardware on explorers Metric, as I havn't encountered a single SAE peice. Doing a project and I'd like to know if I actually need to purchase SAE tools for the truck.

in all honesty... i have seen both mixed together... got to love ford.

luckily the 152 craftsman tool set my grandpa bought me has both.

i'd say if you can find a set like that, that has both, go for it. if not, i'd go ahead just in case.

i buy nothing BUT craftsman, the warranty is amazing. i've never had any trouble with flathead screw drivers i bend, break, melt or anything. they just laugh and hand me a new tool
 






Yea, there are plenty of SAE bolts, too. It's a big mix and match for some reason. I'm doing some upper motor work and have about 3 SAE sizes used and 2 metric sizes used. Seems like American cars should have SAE and foreign cars should have metric, but most things don't make sense nowadays. :confused:
 






i always pack a 10mm, 12mm, 1/2 in and 11/16 in my box. rarely do i need more.
 






IF you project includes working on the TTB then your gonna need a 1 1/8 wrench for sure:D
