First timer here, so everybody be gentle...ok, the problem... My '91 4.0 185,000 miles Explorer has a coolant leak, seem's to me right where the timing chain cover bolts to the front of the block, and has trickled down the crease of the two parts and has actually built up green scale substance (leaking for awhile?) along with this there seems to be charred remains of rubber? smell burnt rubber while driving... THe water pump is nice and dry, and so is the thermostate housing and all hoses to and from radiator, dry overfill tube..THe upper intake is nice and dry also. (replaced last winter)ANy and all help will be deeply appreciated...thank you...

Does the leak appear to start above the water pump? If so I'd suspect the lower intake as the scorce of the leak.
