My father in law has a 91 x.2yrs ago a mechanic said the front bearings needed to be replaced soon,at the time the mechanic just "repacked" them.Last yr before inspection my brother in law repacked them again.
My question is how hard is it to replace them.We believe they are the original bearing and they have 128000 miles on them.
There is no loud noises coming from the front and NO vibrations either.
Some help here would be great.
I'm semi mechanically inclined.(have replace motors, transmittions and just did a full tune up on the 91 lastnight).

the front bearings are easy to replace. as long as they are not siezed to the spindle . Once you remove the tire remove the hub and its components . remove the brake caliper. if you have manual hubs remove the c-clip and 2 spindle nuts . if you have auto hubs remove the c-clip and the rest of the hub assembly. Then the outer bearing should come right out once you have that out pull the rotor off and the inner bearing should come off with it. I hope its that easy for you ! the last time I did mine it took me 2 hours just to get the bearings off 1 side because they were frozen right to the spindle and I ended up having to cut them out with a torch. good luck!
