91 EXP. TACHOMETER & VOLTMETER INOP.

HI,ON MY 91 EXPLORER MY TACHOMETER AND VOLTMETER WILL NOT WORK.ALL THE FUSES ARE FINE.ALL THE OTHER GAUGES WORK GREAT.ANY IDEAS.DOES THIS TACH GET ITS SIGNAL FROM THE ALTERNATOR.

The tach should run off a feed from the coil. I would suggest getting a Haynes or Chilton's manual and trace the tach through the wiring diagram. You will find that the two gauges probably share some wires, and these would be the most likely location of your problem. Just my $.02
