Once again I come to you guys for your wisdom :) Ok, some how the light bulb fell out and melted the whole assembly where it connects to. So I need to replace that plastic assembly/housing. How do you get that off? I see its held in by what it looks like 3 bolts, and one end hooks to the light and the other end to the front of the truck. Not sure how the thing comes off? Is there some kinda special tool for the little plastic (what looks like a nut) at the end of the bolt?

im surprised nobody has answered this yet..if you havent figured it out yet, its easiest to take the whole headlight assy out..to do this, remove the grille (first take off the plastic cover under the hood, then it can be removed..the bottom is held in by clips, it will pull out), then unbolt the assembly and replace..

And if it's the passenger side, you'll want to take the battery out as well.

Here's a question---what happens if that light bulb keeps falling out and burning up the back of the assembly? I had it happen on the passenger side, and it took me two weeks to find the one and only assembly in the local wrecking yard. Four months later---fell out and burned up again.

So, as soon as I finish moving, I'm going to try to repair the burned area with JB Weld compound. Once I have a tight hole for the bulb to fit in, I figure I'll try to duct tape around that seal that normally is held on by that little collar. I'm really getting tired of that bulb falling out!!
