When I bought my 'X' it had a cover over the steering wheel. but now every once in a while I get this black grime on my hands. I pulled the cover off and the very top of the steering wheel is very mushy and a bit thin. It looks like the foam material kind melted and is squeezing out of the wheel. Anyone ever see this before?
Looking for what wheels are direct replacements for the '91. I think F150 and F250.... Will the cruise and horn work OK on '92 up to '94 'X's?
What about later 'S's, the wheel looks different but are the Cruis harneses the same?Just looking to easily replace this gooy mess.

I had the same thing on my parts truck, it had a cover on it as well, and when i took it off this is what I found. I Think its that the glue on the steering wheel stock cover gets hot under the aftermarket cover and seeps out. i would just throw another cover back on rather than replace the whole steering wheel.

Any steering wheel from 91-94 X's fit & bolt right up. I would just find a newer one, then put a wheelskin cover on that one.
I have a wheelskin cover.

Thanks JAson. I've been looking on e-bay. One guy has New Old Stock on 93-94 wheels. When I asked him, he said they would not work with my '91. He is not selling the center cover, maybe that bolt pattern is a bit different.

Then another guy has a Wheel listed for 87-94 and says it is all good as far as Fit goes. The center rubber cover with the Cruise buttons look a bit different but it looks close enough to fit.
That's why asked here. I was someone could straighten out the two different stories.
