First post-Howdee from CA Anybody know of any general auto parts shop that sells a radiator fan? I called all the regulars and they have only the electric set-up. I'm in SF and my crappy plastic fan is pretty much shot. So for now it's feet, friends or public trans. Any ideas out there?

I had to go to the dealership to buy mine, that is a dealer only part, unless you get it online. Try Ebay, I have seen some there that were cheaper than what I paid for mine.

i just replaced the one in my 93 last weekend
dealer and online were all 60+

autozone actually came thru this time i think it was $30 they had to order it....

and get the fan clutch removal tool... makes things a bit easier

the plastic part of my fan was cracking... woulda been bad to have blades fly off...

$30 is not bad, I wish I had found that, Autozone, Napa, and Orielly all told me they did not carry it. I ended up paying $60 plus tax for it.

Found it at NAPA

Luckily it wasnt a DO part. I went on line and fianlly found one at NAPA. Only $31 online and $36 at the shop. It was a little larger than the orig part, but it fit fine. Really easy install, too. Got all the info on this site. Thanks. Didn't need a fan clutch tool, just an open end 1 7/16 wrench (mine had a thin profile and I used a cheater) and a 12 or 13 mm (can't remember) wrench to keep the water pump from spinning. It released with no problem. Just remove the air intake line after the MAF (5/16 socket) and fan shroud first. After that remove the serpentine belt. This will help when you remove/replace the fan clutch (free spinning). I found using a 1/2 drive with a 5/8 socket worked fine to release the belt.
