WOW!! Talk about a custom truck. I'm normally not a big fan of slamed tucks, but I must say that it is one tight ride. I can't imagine the hours he put in on his X.

That is absolutly incredible!!! I have always wanted to see an early model Explorer on 20's. Anyone have an idea how he got te tails to fit in there??

that is a one tight ride with the exception of the fat exhaust tip (not a fan of those). otherwise it looks awesome.

He said he has Euro taillights off a S-10 but I didn't see any pics. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that he had a brushguard and tail light guards. To me they seem like a modification you would do to an off-road X...not a street truck like that. I just don't like it when they mix it up like that. The audio installation looks amazing though.

There are some pics from a distance but none that are up close. But how would they fit? Would you use a lot of bondo or something?

thast very interesting.. I'd like to know how he got that front end on there.. the grill looks like its from a ranger.. but the headlights?? a toyota? sounds like a LOT of fabrication work, this guy has some major skillz..

very sweet ride, I can't say I like the retrofit of the s-10 euros tho, I'd rather have clear explorer lenses or some other custom taillights

one problem...

I don't think it looks at all like an explorer anymore. Love the mods (20's, drop, altezza's), but to me ... just doesn't look like an X, it looks kinda funny, more like a "kit" .

somebody drives that..........that is poor taste it puts down the explorer name

CMartin,

That may be your opinion but over all it is a very nicely done custom vechile. You may prefer your X to be lifted 6 or 7 inches, but he may prefer his to be dropped 6 or 7 inches. It's all a matter of taste. I don't believe it puts down the explorer name though.

Steve

I think it looks good. The only thing I would change is to remove the grille guard. It hides the great work they did on the front.

yeah i do like my truck lifted but i am also into lowered trucks i have lowered and customized 2 taco's,nissan and S-10, but he did a good job on some stuff but the grill guard and tail light guards gotta go along with the step up bars......... and it need to be lowered another 2-3 ........... i can see he has a lot of man hours becuase i have done a truck with more complexity and it takes forever so i do respect his taste but i don't like it

Yeah I can see what you mean. Acutally I said the same thing earlier in this thread. If you are gonna make a truck for the street make it for the street. Don't mix in off-road accesories with your street truck. But then again you may need those brush guards and tail light guards to stop shopping carts from breaking those lights.

Steve

since when is "offroad' and "onroad" defined so clearly? if grille guards couldn't work for onroad applications, why do they come in chrome and why do they have rubber bumpers on them? yes I do some go down an occasional dirt road, but I'm 99% street and I run a grille guard and taillight guards because I like the look they provide, theres nothing wrong with it.

I would have prefered, on this specific X however, that he go with chrome guards instead of black, they blend into the truck far too well

DarkFox I'm just expressing my opinion. On a stock height Explorer I think the Light and Brush guards looks just fine. It's just that I feel they give an SUV a more rugged apperance. I just don't like the way they look. Especially on this Explorer because he has done so much custom work to the front of his truck, which is now hidden by the guard. And also the custom mounted euro tails which are covered up.

im with mrsteve on this one. i mean, this truck looks incredible. very very custom, and he did an unbelieveable job of fabricating things, but the grill guard and light guards do give more of a rugged off road look than a smooth, sleek, on road look.

i believe that they make grill guards for just this reason, darkfox1, you like the chrome ones and the truck owner liked the black ones - different strokes for different folks. if they only made them in chrome or black, every truck that had them would look the same; and there is no rule book dictating whether or not you can have a grill guard on a lowered truck.

personally, i applaud this guy for the blood, sweat, tears, and immagination he invested in his truck. we can all have explorers - we can all buy aftermarket products to suit our tastes and make out trucks different, but the aftermarket wasnt enough for this guy, he made his own 'aftermarket parts', so he trully has a one of a kind truck.

just my $0.02

ya, I dunno guys, I'm like.. stressed out and I dunno why.. I'm going to his town in about a week.. charleston SC. I know its a big place, but I just may see the thing if I look hard enough :P

Man thats awesome. BUT.....the grill guard and tail light gurads have to go.

Thats one sweet truck. I have mixed feelings about the brushguard, but I really think the S-10 taillights should go along with the rear guards. I think Explorer Altezzas would have looked nicer. But still thats a sweet setup.
