ok iam not a big poster i have a 91 explorer A/T but i need help i was crusin in my ex and i got this funny burnin smell from the left front end poped the hood everything looked cool started drivin alil then my brakes went to the floor and didnt stop till last min so i pulled over and noticed somthing was leaakin looked like tranny fluid i put it in drive and all it did was rev up and then jerked outa first then back into neutral it seems put it in reverse and didnt move at all i was thinkin since my 4x4 didnt engage at that it might somthing with the trasfer case i had it towed to pep boys cause its a free tow they said i would have to take it to a tranny shop but i wanted to ask other owners what they think so please any thing at all would help

Hmmm hard to read without a period. Brakes to floor ain't tranny. prolly squirted brake fluid on the exhaust. Look there first....too many odd and seemingly "unrelated" symptoms all at once. Good luck.

well i went to take a look at her today and she started fine fine pretty good expect one problem somtimes when i come to a complete stop it still feels like its goin back into neutral and takes a second or two to get back into first iam still gunna take her to a tranny shop and just get a profesional to look take a look at it thanks for the help
