911 On trail - trac bar mount repair

I took a 1/4 plate about 2"x8" and bolted it to the backside of my engine crossmember and then through the bolt that goes through the track bar. It acts as a bracket, a bolt would have to sheer for it to fail.

My track bar mount is not welded in any form, strictly on with 3 bolts.

When offroading or on road driving, do your best not to attempt to plow man holes ;)
Just ask Bryan.

(this is him flexing out on one, it was a different one surrounded by grass that he ran into at night)

Danny, do you have any pics of what you're talking about? I'm kind of confused about what the plate on the backside of the engine crossmember.

Robbie, did you see the tire prints where you can see that I started crawling up the man hole when I hit it so hard?

Just searched your SAS thread and didn't find any trac bar mount pics, so if you can post up some tonight that would be awesome. I'd like to get it remounted and driving again by tomorrow. thanks

I'm sitting at work and this is the closest thing to it I have at work.

bryan did you get pics of your truck all f***ed up

Thanks Danny. It's hard to tell, but I'm not sure that it'll work with the current mount I have (adjustable Bronco Graveyard mount). I talked to my neighbor and he was as surprised as I was to see how the welds broke. He said when he gets back home tonight I can bring it all over and he'll reweld it and add some gussetts to be sure that it never happens again.
James, I didn't have time to take any pics (Robbie and Robert both had to leave so we were just trying to rush and get the truck turned around and back at the street).

okay, so I only had my camera phone for this pic, but it's closer. Really simple design, 1 piece of steel holding it from pushing out or in. Hasn't failed me yet and I've drivin it through a lot.
