92 Explorer 4WD Problems

I am having problems trying to diagnose my 4WD problems. I push the buttons on the dash and get to response. No lights or anything. I Turn on my head lights and the switch doesn't even light up.

I have tested the transfer case motor and it works. Shifts fine when power is supplied.

I have tried to "TEST" the 4WD module in the back. Blinking light means good, Steady light means bad unit. I get NO light at all.

Is it possible the switch and the 4WD module went bad at the same time??? Does a bad switch effect the module??? (going thru the test procedure disconnects thr switch from the module so I don't think one effects the other)

Anyone have suggestions??? Just want to try EVERYTHING before i dish out the money for a new switch AND module!

Do you have the wire plugged in the back of the switch all the way? It sounds funny how the switch doesn't even light up. Maybe the fuse is blown to power the touch drive?
