It takes forever to warm up on a cold morning, is this common to Explorers or do I need a new thermostat and is it a ***** to change it.
Thanks

On a freezing morning, my truck usually takes around 3 miles start blowing warm air. That should atleast give you a reference.

in my ranger, it also takes about 2 or 3 miles to blow hot.

If it takes a while for the guage to move, then yes, probably bad Tstat. Not too hard to replace from what I've seen on the board. Search for Thermostat and you should find lots of threads in which you'll find the instructions.
