I have a 92 explorer that won't start, and the lights come on dim, even though the lights aren't turned on. I have no idea where to start looking for the problem, any suggestions? I replaced the starter cylianoid but it wasn't the problem. Any help would be appreciated!!!

First check to make sure you're battery is good.

as for the lights coming on dim, i'm not sure what would cause that, but the headlight circuit is separate from the start and run circuitry. in any case, check you're battery (or replace it) and let us know what you find.

if you try turning the lights to the on position, do they come on bright? if so, see if they get dimmer when you attempt to crank the starter.

When I turned the lights on they are all dim, except for the right headlight! the check eng light comes on also I hear a relay click when I turn on the lights the right turn signal in the dash also stays on thats with the key off.batt is at 12.3 volts I can bump start but won't crank with the key or when I jump the starter solenoid.I did install a trailer plug three week ago

My explorer works I don't know what fixed it. removed plug from head light that was dim to check voltage heard a rely clicking . voltage good pluged back in lights came on brite
turned key fired right up. Looking at wiring diagram the only guess is the EEC power relay sticking I just don't know
