'92 explorer xlt a4ld trans slipping (I) think??

I,m new to this whole thing of talking online so please bare with me! I have a "92 explorer xlt it seems like the trans is slipping or maybe something else. i've been reading some of your responses to others in need of advice and it seems you have alot of knowledge and great answers! my problem is I start the vehicle up put in gear and it drives purfect at first.... after i accelerate, it seems to not want to shift without my assistance of letting up on the gas petal and back down. also once this occurs it picks up momentum i have ajusted the front,and rear bands . but it seems this has'nt helped all gears work the same! I've also checked all vacuum hoses im thinking to check the modulator i hope its something that easy so please can someone assist me on this situation all responses will be greatly appreciated. thank you much !!!!!

I think you may want to check your vacum modulator. Its sounds like the same thing that was happening with my 91.

Welcome to this forum! Please post transmission related problems in the transmission section for more responses. Here is a picture of the modulator from Glacier991's photo gallery:

As you could see from the picture, the modulator is the part closer to the rear of the transmission next to the 2 servo covers on the passenger's side under the heat shield.

I would suggest that you read the A4LD rebuild diary, and the A4LD valve body rebuild diary from Glacier991. There is another thread called Project Frankentranny that has a lot of information about ungrading the A4LD with 5R55E parts to make it stronger. All of these threads are stickies in the transmission section.
