93 eddie bauer auto tranny issue

My 93 eddie bauer auto 4x4 transmission shifts hard when I put it in reverse and it use to slip slighty around 2nd or 3rd gear but shifts fine now since I changed tranny fliud and filter. The fluid was dark almost like motor oil with red tint to it. OD won't engage sometimes I have to let off the gas a little to get it to engage. It may be a sensor but where is it and what do I check?

Did you find any broken parts in the pan? Did you adjust the bands, and the kickdown cable? Did you check the vacuum line going to the modulator for leaking transmission fluid?

There were no broken parts and I didn't check anything just changed the fluid.
