93 explorer 4x4 spindle nut

hey i repacked my bearing and while torqueing the second lock nut down the first nut pin sheared off and it tightens up with the last torqueing seqence, has anyone came across this yet? should i buy a new inner locking nut and washer or tig weld an new pin in?

spindle?? do you mean coil cuz first gen's don't have spindles only 95-01 2wd's like mine have spindles.
