93 Ford Ranger - problems cranking and skipping

I have recently bought my son a 93 Ford Ranger and it has been acting like it tries to shut off while driving. Last night he got up to 55 mph when everything tried to shut down. This morning it want crack. It skips like it is going to shut off. They can not find anything wrong with it. Can anyone help me out? We als had a new transmission put in it a week ago, but this was doing it before that and has just know started back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

it can be a few things like a bad pcm, coil, bad ground on those two or an electrical short...we need some more info...have you had them read your stored codes and what codes did you have???
