I have a 93 Ranger w/ a 4 cylinder and 5 speed tranny. After a hard freeze (which in New Orleans is 25 degrees for 12 hours or more) I barely have a clutch. It was fine the day before and now it is almost to the floor when it engages and disengages. I put fluid in the reservoir and still the same problem. I think it is a coincidence that it starting doing this after a freeze. Does the system have to be bleed because the reservoir was empty when I filled it back up? Also what tranny is in that truck, T-45? Thanks fellas in advance.

if your reservoir is empty you might be looking at replacing it, but if you topped it back up then yeah bleed the system.

the transmission you have in there is an m5od r1

Try bleeding it out. Also look for leaks once it warms up. If you had water somewhere in the line it may have expanded and burst a line.

Hey, I got the same problem, did you find out how to bleed the clutch lines? there is a large tube going into the tranny, and a bolt above it, is that the bleeder?

There is a bleeder vale on the side of the transmission. The same kind as your brake, you will need to bleed the air completely out. It is pretty hard to bleed once the system is out of fluid. I've heard just used vacuum type bleeder, but determination worked for me.

thanks Al! I know what you mean, I found and repeatidly bleed the clutch till it got a little better. It still is only about 70 percent, wonder if i have to go have the master bench bleed? for now i have a clutch, barely...lol
