well tommarow im taking my explorer into my freinds college to flush the trans fluid and change the filter. is there a shift kit for this trans or anything i should do while i got it up on the lift? and off hand which trans is in it :thumbsup: any ideas will be great

Its an a4ld (assuming you have auto).. The a4ld started life as a c3, then they added another gear, and lockup torque converter...

Anything you can do to keep it clean and keep it cool will help..

yah its a a4ld is there a shift kit offered for it and is it a good idea... i dont feel like a taking the trans out
 






You may want to add a drain plug to the pan while you have it out to make the next fluid change easier. You might also consider adding an auxilliary transmission filter. If you do a search you will find a write up on it.

do they have a aftermarket pan with one or should i just weld a bung and make it work?
 






Hello Bung! No pans sold with a drain plug. They do sell a combo magnetic plug and threaded base at O'Reilly so you can braze it to the low spot of your pan. Oh. drill a hole first <heh?

yah lol kinda thought drilling might be a good idea:thumbsup:

any other things i should do it has 94,000 miles and sat in a garage for 6 years that was damp....... im thinking diff fluid as well with red line 75-90 have a bunch left over from the sti :) should i change the transfer case fluid as well?
 






for a vehicle sitting for 6 years, i would change every fluid that you can.
