I have a 95 Explorer EB that recently developed problems with the tail lights. Neither left/right brake lights work, but the high mount works. The parking lights, turn signals, hazards all work. The fuses and brake switch are OK but I am not sure what wires need to be traced. Any ideas, or anyone with a wiring diagram that can help?
Thanks, Jeff

Bulbs?

Bulbs look OK. The brake lights were working intermittently yesterday, and today they no longer work.

Thanks, Jeff

You might want to throw some new bulbs in there. If the high mount light still works then you know the brake on/off switch is good. If you have a test light then you can check for power at the bulb connector. If they are old its a good idea to replace both at the same time.

The keyless entry module that locks the doors for you was not working correctly. The doors locked after driving 20 miles last night, and the brake lights immediately started working. I am going to look for a bad ground. We will see how long the brake lights continue to work.
