Well I flew up north not only to visit with friends and family but also to pick up my mothers old car and drive it back to Florida. The car is in really good shape. She took real good care of it. The reason I am taking this car back with me is solely for gas millage. My explorer cost me anywhere between 30 and 40 bucks a day to drive back and forth to work. So I figured it would be great to have a little 4 cly to bang around town with with when I do not need to pull my work trailer with my X.
Anyway I am looking for any mods I can do to this car to give me better gas mileage. I understand the mods I can do to a domestic car but I do not know the first thing about foreign cars.
Dont get me wrong, this little car gets awesome gas mileage compared to the X but if I can get more then of course I want to get as much as possible.
So any input would be great.
Again its a 95 corolla
Thanks
JIGA

Hey Burnsey hows it going stranger?
Yeah I am pretty much going to use the Explorer to drop my work trailer off at job sites, And drive the Corolla back and forth till the job is done.
Of course I will still use the X for the occasional off road journey. I am of course still her ***** so she wont let me leave her that easy :D

I am on http://www.toyotanation.com/ , although under another name :shifty_ey

I think the most noticable MPG change was from a K&N drop-in filter. I had it for the .000128876341234% increase in power, not really watching MPG. While in Phoenix, I noticed a 10 MPG drop. Cleaned and recharged filter, and my MPG was back up to ~40...

Dynomax Ultraflo might/might not be helping my MPG also...

Thanks for the input buddy.
I am not so broke that I cant afford gas but I guess I am a bit of a greedy *******. Now that I have a second vehicle that is awesome on gas, I want to find ways to make it even better if possible.
Thanks again and keep em coming.

So I have been banging around town in this corolla for a few weeks now and I gotta say, I am loving this little gas getter. I am used to spending around $30 - $40 a day driving my explorer. Granted gas prices are much better now but I can just barely fit $20 in gas in the corolla and it lasts me a full week of driving.
I got a feeling I will be spending a lot less time in the explorer. I still love her but she is a complete gas *****!
The corolla may not be pretty, But with all the money I am keeping in my pocket, I simply dont care!!!
Here she is:

Ps: Those speakers are just temporary until I get back down to Florida and can install my system.

Well I just swapped out new rear struts for this car tonight, And the one other thing I would like to do to her before I make the 1300 mile journey south is an oil change with mobile 1. I have been told by more than a few that switching to a fully synthetic oil in a car with high millage is a bad idea.
Is this true and if so why?
Thanks in advance.

r u planning on doing mods to ur corolla

Just mods to get better gas mileage.
Just finished doing all my struts tonight. being a northern car of course it was a huge project with every bolt being rusted solid!
But I got it done so all is great right?
Not really, While bleeding the brakes I blew a brake line.
This I can not fix because these lines have so many bends in them that it just makes more sense to drop it off at the shop and bite the $125 bullet!
