Ok guys im new here and tried to search on the topic but here it goes...
Pretty much since I bought my 95 Explorer XLT v6 the check engine light has come on, it would occasionally lag a little or "miss" while driving, which wasnt a big deal until earlier today, when it would miss whenever I put my foot on the gas or whenever it was idling.... basically the car is mis-firing the entire time its on, shaking and lagging badly in response.

Now thats the problem, but when I did a little research before when the CEL first started coming on I had found out from a friend that the 95-96 explorers had problems like that, something to do with the ignition module?
ive done a little more research tonight and found out that maybe my Mass Airflow Sensor (MAS) needs to be cleaned? any help would be greatly appreciated guys, thanks in advance!!

the only thing i can think of is to have the code pulled...sry i know its not much help

Get the code and it will at least point you in the right direction. Once you do, come back here and tell us the exact numeric code! (not what someone said it meant)

Checkers will do a free diagnosis for you

will

Most if not all '95's are EEC-IV/OBD-1, which means you can pull the codes yourself with nothing more than a paper clip (www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html). In addition to bringing back the code number, don't forget to note which type of code (KOEO hard fault, continuous memory, or KOER) it is. It can make a difference in how you approach the problem.
