So first off im new to this site, just signed up tonight, but i have read A LOT of threads for different reasons. I have a 1995 Explorer limited with only 82k on it. Heres my problem. This explorer has that nasty infamous copper/bronze reflective tint on it and its nearly impossible to match. well im a pretty handy guy myself and i was like ahh what the hell ill give it a try. so i read around, and talked to a few people and heard that doing double layer was the only way to match. I went 5% smoke (i like it dark) all the way around except for the two front windows. the front ones a did a gunmetal reflective that was about 35% and then a layer of smoke 20%, now it looks really good, but the front windows are greenish.. i was wondering if anyone else has the factory tint that i have, and has found something else to work and make it match.... because it makes me sick to see them guys with reflective on the back and smoke on the front, if your gonna tint, its gotta match.. let me know if anyone has any ideas...i appreciate it

Welcome to the forum!

I also have that factory tint, and have been unable to make anything match. With the way it is put in the window, there is no way to remove it. From what I've read here, I believe the only good way is to replace the rear glass with the factory non-tinted. I may very well be wrong, so you should search the site for more info on this. Lot's of good info here!

FYI -- there exists some "XLS" models with untinted windows (comon in government vehicles). Get windows from these and tint your heart away.

EDIT here's a pic.
