Hi everyone. We have 95 Explorer Sport. It's 4wd. Here's whats happened. The O/D started flashing so we jacked it up and took the tranny cover off to service it. We found a small rock inside but didn't look to have done any damage. All gaskets where good. Bolted everything back up and out new fluids in and he drove 10x's better. Now the 4wd hasnt worked in a long time and still didn't once we did all this. You could turn into 4 wheel high or low and hear the hubs engage but it wouldn't be in 4wd. Anyway. The o/d was still blinking and then a few days later it stopped blinking. Trabby was still shifting good and we could turn the o/d on and off and it worked as it should.
Girlfriend went to the bank one day, drove over to the gas station. Parked. Got gas. Got back in and put her foot on the brake and went to put it in gear and her foot slipped and hi the gas. Now the truck won't go into gear. If it's in park and you try to push it, it wont budge but if you put it into neutral you can push it so it leads me to believe its going into gears but it won't move when you press on the gas. Now if you turn the 4wd knob to hi or low you don't hear the hubs engage any more.
Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be that caused this? I check the fluid and its good. Brake fluid is good. Everything is the same as it was when she was driving it 5 minutes before it stopped driving. I'm leaning into something electrical but it's only a guess. Experts?
Thanks in advance!!
