My 1995 Limited is randomly blowing the DRL fuse (#26). I can replace the fuse but shortly after it blows again. I did have it blow as I was shifting from Drive to Park but after replacing the fuse and trying it again it did not blow. A similar problem has been identified on this board but their solution was never posted.
At the same time my alternator has started vibrating and making a racket (much akin to a diesel) but only when I am in Drive and stopped. As soon as I switch to Park it stops or as soon as I release the brake and accelerate it quits as well. Both times it stops due to higher engine RPM’s. I have read a few posts in regards to the bearings going on an alternator but I am unsure if it would produce the symptoms I am hearing.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks

It sounds like the bearings are shot to me! Mine makes the same noise just not quite as loud as your's sounds. Mine has done it for at least a year (typical mechanic, his own vehicle never gets repaired). As for the fuse, it sounds like you might have an intermintent short either the neutral saftey switch or the shift position switch.

Thanks Mike! I appreciate any feedback to point me in the right direction
Is it ok to continue driving with the bearings going? Or should I just replace the alternator in case the bearings seize?
The short does sound as though I will need to have a service shop diagnose the issue though unless it can easily be diagnosed by myself. Are either of those 2 switches easily accessed? And is there a test I can perform to determine if it is either of these switches?
