- 1995 Ford Ranger XLT
I have a 1995 Ford Ranger XLT, 3.0L V-6, Two-wheel drive, Extended Cab, Automatic Transmission with Overdrive, 82000 miles.
Transmission some times downshifts hard from second to first gear.
When the truck down shifts hard the Over Drive light sometimes comes on the dashboard. When I stop the truck and restart it the OD light goes off.
The transmission fluid is red, appears good, and has no leaks.
What causes the hard down shift?
Does the transmission need a new filter, flush, new ATF? Or is the problem electronic?
Thanks!!
