I have a 95 XLT 4x4 with 195k on it. I suspect the drive train is all original. I have a 'chirping' noise when the truck is moving. It does it in and out of neutral. I jacked the rear up and put it in drive and the chirp is still there, so I assume it's rear wheel or drive shaft related (not front wheel related). I don't see any grease fittings on the Ujoints.... is this correct? Also, there is no fluid/grease on the rear backing plates, so I assume my rear axle seals are good. Also, it has disc rear brakes.

Does anyone have any ideas how to better isolate the problem?

Hello neighbor.

You're on the right track -- chirping (almost sounds like a bird) is usually attributed to a failing U-joint.
