- 1995 Ford Explorer xlt
Well, this may be a little long but here goes. I (my boyfriend)has a 95 explorer 4x4 xlt. The check engine light has been on for months now. He bought a ford code reader and egr and oxygen sensor always lean left side came up. He works all day and we live in a retirement community we have not a garage but a carport so he has very limited time and space to work on truck, so we hadn't gotten around to replacing the egr or sensors. the truck ran fine with the exception of every once in a while I'd get in and see that all my radio stations weren't set anymore like the battery came undone, and a few times i'd go to start it and the power locks would go up and down and truck wouldn't start turn the key off and back on and it would start, then a few days ago i was starting up a hil and the od light started flashing and when i'd be at 30mph and rpms i'd have to let off the gas to get it to shift out then it'd go fine.So my boyfriend looked at it and said a wire was bare with tranny fluid on it that goes to the vehicle speed sensor and he said something about wiring harness having no power to it what all this means i don't know, but i know i need transportation so could anyone tell me anything. We've felt it to have an electrical problem for a while. And also the other day at Oreillys automotive i go to get in it and it wouldn't start the guy there checked battery and said it had a dead cell, we went to replace it and it had the wrong one in it not the one he thought should have been so i got the bigger one, could that have something to do with the electrical ? And also hooked it up on the code reader again after the od light started flashing and it came up 513 pcm internal voltage something. Help somebody....Thanks
