Hi guys,
I gotta question for you all.
My Exploder is throwing the P401 code (again!) and now it doesn't want to start some times. I replaced the DPFE SENSOR which has worked in the past....But it didn't this time.
Still the same code.
Any suggestions?
I am going to check/ clean the EGR in the morning...
Thanks for your help!

Well, here is what I have found. The EGR is fine, and everything checked out.
BUT (you know there is always one of those in a croud) BUT I did find that the VAC line to the EGR was cracked bad. It was rock hard and split/broken in a few places. I replaced all of that and the P0401 code has not (yet) returned. I drove around a bit...then hooked up to OBD II scanner. It claimes that the EGR cycle has compleated and the icon in my scanner is no longer flashing-meaning it if fixed! Yay for me.
Anyway..the point of this is: Would that broken line be enough of a vac leak to cause engine to not start? It seems like such a small leak. I am going to drive from Spokane to Louisiana next month..so I gotta get this thing fixed.
Please advise
Thanks agian

Wrong forum for a 96, hence no replies. Mine is a 94, therefore I have little to no suggests regarding the P0401 code.

Someone will move your thread soon, So I do not think you'll need to start a new one.
