This has been getting progressively worse. It will start right up first thing in the morning but when you drive it anywhere you must leave it sit for a minimum 45 minutes to start. When you try to start it it cranks and sounds like it wants to turn over. Biggest problem is getting gas because I cannot turn off engine. My brother has replaced fuel filter and says pump is working fine because when started it runs great. He also said timing is not issue because it is running great once started. He is professional mechanic and this has him stumped. He also put his computer analyzer ( I do not know right name for this thing) on both while car was sitting and while driving and did not show any problems. The only way I can run an errand is to leave it running while I go in store, which I hate doing because price of gas and I am afraid someone might steal it and this is my only means of transpotation. Thank you in advance.

Try replacing the coolant temperature sensor that hooks to the PCM (NOT the one for the temp guage). If it's bad, the PCM might be thinking the engine is cold when it's not.
