Here we go........The old electronic had let me down for the last time......I have done some thinking and started the prep for the swap......I have cleaned up the 1350 manual shift tcase rather nicely.......The center console is also out......next comes a hole in my floor and a trip to the driveshaft shop for a little custom work.... Ill try and get some pictures up for this....idk if people have done this yet......any major reasons why i shouldnt go thru with it?

I was under the impression that you needed a Manual shift 1354...not a 1350?

I believe the 1354 is a direct swap whereas the 1350 will require custom driveshaft(s).

Same as what Bronco638 said^^^^

PICTURES!

please :D

A 1350 is the same t-case as a 1354 except the 1350 has the slip yoke in the transfer case. I know of atleast one person who used it in an explorer but imho it's not the ideal case to use.

hey 9sport6 >> can you please give us details (pix too if possible pleEAAASE) on how you wired up a 1350/1354 to a 2nd gen? I ask cauz most of the info I found on the board were for a 1st gen. Thanks!

Do a search. there's ATLEAST ten threads on swapping in a 1354 including one i've started on my swap.

hey, hey I just wanted to show off my awsome shift boot. :p No but this question gets asked all the time, there is a plethora of info on the topic. Maybe one of these days I'll do a write-up so people can all look at that. :)

LOL.. but mine is pretty.

the 1350 that i used had the same output just the front output was a slip yoke.....i simply used a ranger front driveshaft and put my front universal in it
the linkage was a different story.......i had to fabricate a bracket that mounted to those two wholes on the back of my tranny and dropped back i think it was like 2 3/8 inches back to the two holes the shift linkage braket mounts by....then i had to cut a half inch or so off where the shift linkage offsets to the t case .......that was about it....now i just need to figure out which wire is power on my actuator and run a switch to it to engage the front end......ill get a couple pictures of the brackets and such when i get a chance

great thx.

about the front end, the 97 and above does not have this issue right? cauz they didnt have vacuum disconnects as i understand it?

You're right, 95-96 was the only years that had the vacuum disconnect on the front axle.
