96 Exp Sport Transmission problems

I have a 96 Sport 4X4 automatic. Lately when it shifts to 2nd or 3rd gear it revs up big time, almost sometimes to 3500 RPM. Is this a problem I should look into and if so, what kind of things could it be and prices to fix. Thanks for the help.

I had a Corvette that did that...it turned out the transmission filter was clogged...just a thought.

A friend had the same problem on one of his cars. It turned out to be the filter also. I recommend a complete fluid and filter change. If you don't mind the price, I'd go synthetic.
