Hello ,
i have a 96 limited 4.0 ohv 5 speed (over-drive) rwd explorer. I also decided to change the cylinder head gasket set.
i want to buy victor reinz (mahle ) gasket set. But i am a little bit confused about the set spec.
There are two specs for 4.0l ohv motors. HS5887A and HS5887B .. it seems A is for 95-96 models,and B is for 97 models.
İ 've read a document in a web site that tells that HS5887B can be used for the 4.0 OHV motors if the 8th digit of vin number is "X".. Also my vin number includes "X".. but not 97 model..
Is it true or not? also which mark gasket do you offer to me?
