Problem: My x has been sitting for a some months. I started it a couple months back put gas in it drove it around for awhile and parked it again. The next day i went to start it and it wouldn't start. No noise, no power, no lights. I figured it was the battery. I finally got around to buying a battery today and installed it.

Now, it has power & lights but wont start. Makes a clicking noise when key is turned but other then that, no crank, no start. What's the problem?

Did a quick search for 'clicking noise' and found alternator problem, starter problem, solenoid problem...

I'm definitely not a mechanic and haven't spent enough time with my x to know what the problem could be. Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'm on a super tight budget ( which is why it took so long to get a battery ) and I can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars but will do what I can to get it running again. Either that or maybe someone on long island wants to come & buy it from me for $1100 ;) ..

Anyway, like i said any and all help (or inquiry for purchase) would be appreciated. Thanks guys..

When my 95's battery was low, radio and everything, lights all that were fine, but when i would try to crank it, it would just click, so i popped the charger on. If you bought a new battery, try putting it on a charger, or jumping it

Yeah check out my seafoam video, see if thats what yours is doing...

I've decided to sell the sport for $1,000
If anyone on Long island wants to come & look at it, by all means please contact me. Its not a junker. I just dont have the money to put into it nor am i mechanically inclined enough to fix the starter myself. I know plenty of you can do the work yourself which should save you a good amount of money.

i can't post it in the for sale section, so if anybody comes across this and is truly interested reach out to me. Here is the craigslist posting.

clean title in hand..

Thanks guys

Hopefully, you are not selling it just because it won't start. Most likely it's either a cable problem, or a solenoid problem. If you have a new battery and it still won't start, it's not the alternator. Corroded battery cables are a common problem and that will give you what you are describing.

If you want more help, just post a response. I'm sure we can walk you thru diagnosing and fixing it.
