'97 can barely start, sounds horrible

i recently bought a neon undercar kit as more of a joke than anything else off of ebay for a really cheap price. i was trying to hook it up to my battery to make sure it lit up before i mounted everything and it did like up. I took it out and was going to get in professionally installed but now my car sounds awful when i turn it on. It takes it a few more seconds to start and it sounds like its really underpowered, when i recrewed my battery, i did it really tight so i dont know what the problem is.

Um check the battery wiring again, look for any plugs that you may have accidently pulled loose and put down the neon kit

hahaha just kidding, I have neon too, just on my boat.......

so just by loosening my battery to connect the neons and then taking them out, i couldnt have really messed anything up could i have? i mean its still sounds awful

Check the WIRING around the battery.

Where is the sound coming from? starter possibly?
