Use the search function, or even Google. A search for "Explorer Blend Door Fix" will provide all the info you'll need. Of course, now that you've created another "blend door" thread, instead of searching first, this worthless thread will now clutter up the future search results........

thank you for your reply. wow i would have never thought of using search. thanks again.

oh and i did use it. but didnt find what i was looking for. but on your kind suggestion i will try again.

have a nice day

I can't say exactly what the cause may be but I know for me i checked the actuator that is inside the glove compartment area. Just unplug the connector and remove some scrws and the actuator can be removed.

You can split the actuator apart safely and what you can do is to make sure the tiny plastic gears inside are not broken.

this is all that was wrong on mine. Found an actuator at the junk yard and the tiny plastic gear was free.

If the gears are broken you usually will hear clicking going on. Gears slipping. If no clicking then probably and most likely the blend door post is broken and not catching on the actuator.

good luck. Search will prove worthy.

i don't think the the gears are broke. because some times it works normally and some time it don't. at one time when i hit a bump it started to work. can it be electrical or vacuum?

Check the connector that plugs into the actuator for the correct voltage.

Id check the actuator gears.

you can cut the bottom of the heater box out to access the door and tape it in place top get heat. Temp fix.

Junk yard actuator would be next to make sure your old one is good. 5$.

Good luxk man....freezing sucks....i drove all the way to a ski resort last year without heat...lol....not this year!

ill do the junkyard thing. as soon as i can get a change to take it apart. the funny thing is. i was tapping under the dash with the truck runny. and i hit it a couple on the heater box where the door is and it clicked over and started to blow heat? we are taking a trip to my brothers for the superbowl so if we need heat ill just tap on the box lol
