97 Explorer 4.0 XLT

Hey I have a prob. and I was hopein to get some advice. I have my 97 Explorer 120xxx and it was throwin codes so i took it to advanced and the codes were EGR insufficient and EGR exessive so i replaced the EGR valve and now its throwin EGR insufficient and cylinder 3 and 5 missfire I started out getting in-between 18 and 22 MPG and now im getting a little worse than ten. When in park she misses every 8 seconds or so and shutters real bad going 45 MPH, Also the front drivers side sounds like a chain skiping off a sprocket as soon as the explorer starts to move or turn. I have replaced the sparkplugs, ran sea foam and replaced the sway bar bushings so far just wanting to know what direction to go in from here. also one of the old plugs had a cracked porcelain

I would've replaced the EGR sensor first. Not sure how to help you with the current predicament though

How old are your plugs and wires? Is your thermostat working? Is the vehicle getting to efficient operating temp?

ya temp is fine havent changed the wires yet

have changed the wires and an egr pressure feedback sensor the truck seems to keep crackin plugs for some reason and I have also just replaced the majority of the vacume lines.:roll:

Have you tried a good Fuel injector cleaner. Some seafoam added to your gas and some ran into your PCV valve intake?

i ran the sea foam through the gas tank but not the pvc O and the damn thing wont run now i was changing the second cracked plug i have had on cylinder 5 and now she wont idle corectly replaced all vaccume lines also now has no coolant for some reason and the front seal on the tranny is leaking shes about to go to the junk yard
