Hello everyone.

So for the past few weeks I been dealing with my truck having EVAP. ISSUES. I had cleared the code twice already and it was samething both things. Code : PO455 Severe Evaporative leak or no flow. There was 2 codes, one was confirmed and other was pending. I don't smell any gas anywhere and seems to run fine. Now I been driving around for about a week and haven't even bothered to clear it.

I looked up the code and it said it consists of 5 components. I forget all of them off the top of my head. But was fuel tank, charcoal canister and a few other things.. So I know this system puts the unburnt fuel back into the air intake manifold. Could be as simple as replacing a hose.

But my question is, Has anyone had this issue and what did you do to fix it? I imagine a rubber hose would wear out the fastest but like to fix immediately. Thanks everyone.

Under your battery is the canister vent solenoid it has the vent line from the tank coming to it and it has the tube from the intake (where the fumes go) leading from it. There is also a Vacuum line from the engine that switches it on and off.

The most common failures are in this area, the plastic fittings brake, the lines come apart or the sensor fails

First step come here and post the code! Well done!
Second step visual inspection of the Evap system start under your battery tray with all those fittings and lines
The next area to visually inspect is above the spare tire at the charcoal canister, this is where the fumes are stored before they get purged into the intake

Let us know what you find!

Thanks! I really appreciate your kindness! I'll look into that after work. Probably make a video on it. I'll mention your help from the forum, but won't mention names. Some people don't like that. I was planning on removing spare anyways. Because a 29 is worthless when your using 31's. Don't want to destroy transmission is AWD system, gears etc.... Thanks again!

My evap code went away when I replaced the rusted out fuel filler neck.

Transmission is one thing the awd t case is another separate unit
I don’t care if you use my name lol lol some people might actually know who you are talking about

I don't like the fuel filler neck setup on this truck. Push down and less then 1/8th of a turn. I'm not that lazy! Bad design in my opinion. I prefer the turn like twice and click. Least you know it's on there good. I will let you guys know what I find out. I looked at the hose coming from under the battery to the air intake manifold. It looked okay without taking anything apart. Gonna be more throughout tomorrow. Okay 410Fortune, sounds good. Thanks

Also, if you bend the bracket, the factory spare location can fit up to a 32" tire ...

My vent hose in the front of the engine bay turned out to be dangling like a limp noodle and when I clipped it back to its original position, my evap code became way less frequent. It was constant before and now it's "sometimes." I'm guessing my carbon box is all ****ted up, which it probably is, because it's a 25 year old rust belt vehicle that spent its days by the ocean.
Important to check this with a full, half, and leaning towards empty tank!
It of course should still not be coming on with a half or low tank. But that is valuable information to figure out more precisely what the problem actually is.
