There are many reasons that can cause your engine to not run. The best way for you to determine what the problem is is to follow the no start procedure.
How do you know it's getting fuel? A '97 should register about 35-37 PSI of fuel pressure as measured with a fuel pressure gauge at the fuel rail, key ON. If you have fuel and spark it should start. Is the CEL on?
If the SOHC V6 jumps time (which is the typical death of a SOHC V6 engine) it will not start, even with spark and fuel. A compression test of all cylinders will determine whether your valves are bent from jumping time.
