97 explorer question

I have a 97 explorer eddie bauer and during christmas break once we got on the interstate between 55 and 65 it started violently rocking from side to side...some people said it could have been the 5th shock. But I realized yesterday that the driverside fron end was about an inch and a half lower than the passenger side front end. I turned the torsion bar up a little bit and got them even...my question is would the suspension being off that much make it rock like it was? Also I have 20 inch wheels on it with 275/55/20 tires...i didnt know if that mattered.

What about the front sway bar end links? I know this made mine somewhat unstable at speed.

Like mentioned above Sway bar links, also have you had an alignment? If not, you may want to invest in one.
