my "beat em' up explorer. done and gone....
and now my 97' will take over so I have entered the taboo of lifting a gen 2.
from my searches on explorer forum and from keeping up w/ the new posts ive come to the desision that tt & shackles ain't that bad, when you look at the final product compared to the price. Its been done enough to be considered tested and proven. I can use it on road and for med. duty wheellin'.
Here's the ? that I couldnt find the answer to. (1) Of coarse you need an allignment after torsion bar adjustments, but does the twist retain factory specs. in the way of........ is he going to need a special allignment kit..I cant do my own allignment (not equipt.) so how much diff is it than a stock jobber.
(2) Am i going to need longer shocks?
(3) On severall occasions I have seen disscusions over the spring rating of the torsion bars for example "Gjerret" (nice truck what Im pretty much going for) says he has "B" class bars, the stongest. how can i tell what model mine are. (hopfully w/out having to clean anything to read
) Is there a model that a twist would be unprefferable to.
(4) has any one w/ a tt found their truck constantly misallignend
answers to these few questions or any other helpfull info regarding this prodject (Gears, tires, ect.) would be most appreatiated.......ouch spell check anyone!!!
