97 XLT AWD- OD light flashing

I have a few nagging problems with my Explorer, one of them is that the OD light keeps flashing on the dashboard. Is this a common problem that I'm missing the simple solution to?

As well, would a defective MAS sensor cause the check engine light to come on?
Every picture I see of the air intake system seems to be different than mine but I'm assuming on theis 4.0 L OHV the MAS is inside the area just behinf the cone shaped air filter?

Check your transmission fluid level. When my OD light flashed on my ranger I was a couple quarts low.

Yes your MAF can set off your check engine light. Spray it with some electrical contact cleaner and reset your comp.
