[/B]My daughter has a '97 XLT. The blower motor goes out intermittently. Bumping the dash will usually restart it. Is it the switch or the motor? Can the blower be fixed by changing the brushes or are these blowers sealed? If the brushes can be replaced, where is the best place to buy new ones? How hard is it to remove the blower motor? Can it be done without removing the dash? The controls are manual. Three controls left to right. Fan speed, temp control, position control.

its probably the Blower Motor Resistor its located in the engine compartment just below the blower motor on the passanger side.

My 2000 Ex blower motor worked intermittently. Mornings...no fan. Then driving along highway it would kick on.

Mid-day...worked fine.

I replaced the Blower motor relay under the air intake. Then the blower motor would work 1st...then long drive. Stop/Restart...nothing for several mins.

I just replaced the blower motor. So simple even I could do it.

Now it's like Colt .45 Malt Liquor...WORKS EVERY TIME! :D
